Support can be instigated at the start of a tenancy when a client first takes on their new home or during a tenancy to help prevent homelessness or to prevent difficult home conditions becoming worse. The project works with matters connected to housing and tenancy and does not provide personal care.
The project aims to provide practical help and assistance to enable a client to set up and maintain their tenancy. Support is given to the client whilst they acquire the skills needed to live independently and successfully run a home.
Support is offered for up to 2 years, although throughout this time there are frequent opportunities to assess progress. If the client and support worker feel that support is no longer needed and the client is managing their tenancy confidently, support can be withdrawn.
How can HOAP help?
Basically, HOAP can offer assistance and support with anything that affects the security of a tenancy and the ability to keep and successfully run a home. Our aim is to prevent homelessness and the factors which affect an individual’s ability to maintain their home and tenancy can be very varied. |
